Tracks Autism - Positive Futures

About TRACKS

TRACKS autism is an independent local charity and Early Years Centre for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related conditions. Established in 2002, TRACKS is one of only three such specialist centres in the UK.

Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and working towards the Herts Quality Standard, collectively the specialist teaching team at Tracks has over 40 years of experience working with children with an ASD.

TRACKS is open 48 weeks of the year. The centre offers a safe and positive environment for learning, structured play and respite care including an outside garden and play area.

Our staff to child ratio is typically 1:1 and we have a maximum of eight children attending each of our sessions. There are currently five sessions a week and each session is three and a half hours.

We do not stipulate a minimum attendance requirement, but we feel most children benefit from a minimum of two sessions a week.

Our team of professional specialist teachers work closely with families and professionals to provide an individual learning programme suitable for each child.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is adapted to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.

We follow the guidelines set by the Government’s “Every child matters” paper. TRACKS towards helping children develop and reach the 5 outcomes:

  • be healthy
  • stay safe
  • enjoy and achieve
  • make a positive contribution
  • achieve economic well-being
