TRACKS staff and trustees have been overwhelmed by the tremendous fundraising efforts of Elaine Bryant and Annabel Reilly who recently put themselves through 24 hours of incredible endurance to raise over £2,300.
They both took part in TrekFest which meant completing a 54 mile route through Brecon Beacons, the stunning hills that run through the centre of South Wales and are the training ground of the SAS. The Beacons route provides an extreme physical workout and a psychologically taxing challenge. The route crosses the highest peaks in the Beacons and South Wales and had to be completed in 24 hours.
"We want to offer both Elaine and Annabel a huge thank you for all their hardwork," says Sara Campbell, Principal of TRACKS. "It took a huge physical effort to raise these essential funds for us."
Neither women are athletes and TrekFest was a huge challenge for them.
"I could not ask people to sponsor me if I am not willing to do something outside my comfort zone", says Elaine. "Doing the challenge has meant trying to fit a demanding training schedule into two busy family lives. But the cause is fantastic.TRACKS autism are pioneering in their field, but they need more funding!"
