Raising Awareness about Autism - Extract from The Comet Stevenage
TRACKS Autism, a specialist early years centre in Stevenage for children with an autistic spectrum condition, has a long waiting list and is looking to reach more children with autism by opening up a new session at its centre.
Each session costs the charity £600, so the team are looking for businesses to support them by sponsoring a session.
In a bid to raise awareness, members of TRACKS have been asking businesses on Stevenage’s Pin Green Industrial Estate what they think of when they hear the word ‘autism’.
An autism-friendly Easter event at the centre on Sunday, which included crafts and an egg hunt, raised more than £1,000.
